Hypnosis
Most people have experienced a state of hypnosis. If you have lost yourself in a book, or, become thoroughly engrossed in something on the internet, or, realized that you’ve driven past your intended destination but weren’t sure how that happened you are familiar with hypnosis. Hypnosis is a natural state of being.
Hypnotherapy is a process of deepening that natural state of mind to assist you to enter an hypnotic trance. The deep relaxation of the trance allows you to focus your attention on any goal or intention you set for yourself. The role of the hypnotherapist is to guide you and to support you to achieve your goals or intentions. While you are in the state of hypnosis you are especially receptive to suggestions and to imagery. However, you will not say or do anything you do not want to say or to do. You are in complete control. Your conscious mind remains aware of what you experience while your subconscious becomes your primary resource. Subsequent to a session you will remember the session, feel energized, and fully alert.
People choose hypnotherapy for many reasons including changing unwanted behaviors, increasing confidence, or eliminating fears or anxiety. Some wish to hone skills they use at work or at school, and some may wish to deepen their creativity by ridding themselves of blocks to the creative process. Some people wish to learn to manage chronic pain. Others may find hypnotherapy useful in dealing with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). For some, the hypnotherapy process of past life regression is useful in order to gain insight into present life experiences. Some people benefit from working with their dreams while in hypnosis in order to gain insight into parts of their lives they wish to understand more fully. You may wish to work with me for any of these reasons; or, you may have a different reason and feel that hypnotherapy would be beneficial.
